Recap
From the wiki page Maiden 4:
Pauline was matched against Maiden 4 for the final battle. In her timeline, despite her despair at her obviously unequal match up, she managed to trick Maiden 4 into breaking her mask and pushed through her mass. Faced with Maiden 4’s memories, Pauline persisted and managed to push the assassin outside of the arena.
In the canon, Maiden 4 timeline, Pauline decided to fight too, despite the uneven odds, only to be slammed against the arena and thrown off-panel by Maiden 4. Landing on a different board, Pauline rode an anon’s car and used it to hit the assassin, using the opportunity to finally break her mask. Though Maiden 4 proceeded to gain the advantage quickly after that, ultimately the Blast Rites champion found no will to continue fighting Pauline, seeing her as having the life she would have wanted, and quit the match on her own.
