LONG LIVE THE TOURNAMENT! His Lordship tried to give you ponces an invaluable gift. But you didn't want it. Well... Now I'm here. To save you lot from yourselves. The Bucket is now the Crucible, with General Chadwick to guide you!

Charles “Chad” Chadwick is a participant of the Second Crab Tournament, as the headliner and leader of Team Chads. A sergeant from a decadent empire full of charisma and insane drive, due to his actions he can be considered the main antagonistic force of Crab 2.

Appearance

Personality

Chadwick is ruthless, but always grinning, loud, seemingly friendly yet strict on subordinates, “larger than life”, intelligent and cunning, driven, and also an absolute simp for the Gamemaster (girl form).

He enjoys the battle for what it is and considers other Crabs reprobates who reject the fun of the Bucket. He sees the tournament as an opportunity for everyone to prove themselves and spends no time in lollygagging or pretending, pushing his team to deliver the best results and secure victories no matter what.

Powers and Abilities

Chadwick is a regular man, and the weakest of his team - however, he makes up for that with his sheer charisma and force of personality. Trained in the army of his Empire, he’s got both the gall and strategic mind to turn battles into victories.

He is equipped with several old-timey gunpowder-powered firearms and his aim is impeccable, able to land perfect shots at a living target. He also wields a military sabre he shows expertise with - and shows himself able to endure great amounts of damage and blood-loss and yet continue fighting.

An asset he shows as well is psychological warfare - Chadwick will always talk to try to break down his opponents, unsettle or distract them as he secures a victory. He has enormous drive for victory and is more than willing to cheat for it as well if necessary in order to obtain it.

Background

History

Round 1

Chadwick (won, entry, part 2) vs Carolyn (lost, entry, part 2) in Shooting. Match page: C2 R1 - Chadwick vs Carolyn

Competing in a shooting match where Chadwick used Fred as a target, he provoked Carolyn verbally by talking about even her daughter and ultimately was hit by her, but showed his superiority in shooting.

Round 2

Chadwick (won, entry) vs Prince Alexis (lost, entry) in Cooking. Match page: C2 R2 - Chadwick vs Prince Alexis

In France, Chadwick took the age Elixir becoming a young boy and Alexis did the same becoming his older self.

In Alexis’s reality, Alexis asked Chadwick instructions on how to cook. Chadwick used the chance to give him all the wrong ingredients. When they presented their dishes to the Gamemaster however, Chadwick was surprised to find he was serving a half dead cooked Honkita. He ran in panic finding many of his teammates dead and even Berbie roasting in the oven, all from Alexis. Meanwhile Alexis served the Gamemaster a delicious dish.

In Chadwick’s canon reality, he tried to drink a modified potion that would give him powers to face Alexis, but Alexis had swapped it so Chadwick instead became a kid. Chadwick got into the kitchen first. When the day came, Gamemaster asked for good for them both to cook, as Alexis bantered his superior experience against Chadwick who looked like he lacked sleep. They kept bullying each other, with Chadwick making him sleep with potato peels, Alexis throwing sauce at him, Chadwick blowing an eternal raspberry at the Prince and so on. Once they tried the dishes, Alexis pretended to be sick but he was just playing, as he already knew Chadwick had swapped the ingredients for bad ones and was just using his personal reserve. However, Chadwick revealed he knew Alexis had been following him, so he had instead Bernard swap the ingredients Alexis would use. He had fed him the quantum potion designed by Bernard, which instead sent him to another dimension, making Chadwick the victor.

Round 3

Chadwick (lost, entry) vs Alaïsa (won, entry). Match page: C2 R3 - Chadwick vs Alaïsa

In Alaisa’s canon reality, intertwined with flashbacks of her being with her family, hearing about Taya’s victory and her dad explaining her their tradition in making popcorn, she faced Chadwick who suggested a game of chance and shooting Berbie to play with her. When he actually fired a gun at the bird, Alaisa jumped to defend him, disappointing him. They proceeded to fight then and Chadwick cornered her, asking what kind of wish could she have that compared to his. Alaisa told him off, saying she had wanted to be like him but she could notice he was just lost and using others to fill his void. This provoked Chadwick enough to try to stomp her, but she quickly pushed his leg out of bounds and won. Despite being seemingly about to pop, Chadwick ultimately laughed it off and let her go.

In Chadwick’s reality, he attempted to kill Alaisa before the match, but was stopped by Jed, Mike and Bernard, before a fight broke out between Chadwick supporters and opposers. He and Alaisa began fighting then in the rubble of the Bucket, and ultimately despite getting badly wounded and even losing his eye he achieved the victory and took hold of the wish for himself.

After Crab 2

Once his team won, Chadwick quickly got hold of the Wish and used it to create Eternal Crab, forcing every participant to experience continuous tournaments until one that would wish him away would appear. He reigned over the Bucket, now turned into a crucible, creating simultaneous tournaments and being a stand in for the Gamemaster, while longing for her return. Out of his team, only Leuca remained loyal to him, and he also had Kevin as an enforcer.

Chadwick found himself continuously vexed by the degeneration and antics of the trapped Crabs, and many years happened in the Bucket under his reign, the period known as Eternal Crab. They would not age and simply keep competing round after round to his delight.

During the events of Crab 3, it was revealed that he grew tired and corrupted with power, longing for the Gamemaster’s return and having Berbie as his ally. The Gamemaster indeed did return from his long holidays - as a baffled Chadwick stared, she exploded him with a gesture of her hand annoyed that he was still hanging in her place.

Chadwick meets his end.

Relationships

Life Within CRAB

Chadwick kept a steely grip on his team, acting as a drill sergeant. He was not liked but he was respected and kept them in check and winning.

Carolyn considered him a worthy opponent after losing to him. Chadwick had appreciation for some Crabs but considered most hazards, degenerates or reprobates.

Leuca, Kevin and Berbie remained loyal to him. Bernard, Jed, and Nathan defected, the first and last being often locked in Nuremberg due to his resistance.

Even after grabbing power, he admittedly could keep no control of Bodycount.

He took an uncle-like liking to Alaisa after their match, and would hear her advice if she were to give it.
