Merachne
How funny it is I am tasked to hold what I cannot have.
Merachne is a participant of Crab 2, as a member of Team Eldritch. He is a primordial being strongly related to dreams with a melancholic, dour behavior.
Appearance
Personality
Merachne represents the eternal cycle of life energy. Though his is not the only universe, he is the only one who yearns to dream as do the subjects of his universe. He binds the universe and oversees the new creation of life.
Merachne is among the physically strongest opponents in CRAB, however his melancholic demeanor and envy of dreamers greatly inhibits the actions he would take on others. Merachne spends his time imitating living creatures to attempt to embody the mortality and ability to dream they possess. As he is very selfish, he only seeks to fulfill his ‘dream’.

Can displace his physical form instantly.
Is not bound by universal laws.
Can travel through time and dimensions.
Induces dreams and the creation of life energy.
Any physical contact with Merachne causes instant death.
Can modify matter.
Can link minds and souls of other beings.

History
Round 1
Merachne (won, entry) vs Vormio (lost, entry) in Golf. Match page: C2 R1 - Merachne vs Vormio
In Merachne’s canon reality, he struck the ball though in doing so he melted the golf stick. Vormio transformed into her girl form and hit the ball as well, causing it to bounce on Merachne’s one and win, calling the entity a faggot. In Vormio’s reality, they played golf, but Vormio noticed the ball was a bomb and it killed Merachne. Vormio’s author then spent more time rambling about why he couldn’t complete the comic in time.
Round 2
Merachne (lost, entry) vs Soil Repair Unit (won, entry) in Gardening. Match page: C2 R2 - Merachne vs SRU
In France, Merachne turned into a girl while SRU picked the Wizard Hat.
In SRU’s canon reality, he landed and accidentally destroyed a flower girl Merachne was caring about. SRU instantly got into action, using genetics, stealing nitrogen from a company, and creating a new kind of plant, however his calculations were wrong and the plant started sucking all water around it. Ultimately however despite affecting various Crabs, it grew into a fantastic flower both looked at fascinated. In Merachne’s reality, she walked into a feminist parade, where seeing her nude the policemen tried to attack her. Merachne escaped and landed near where SRU was working, her presence making everything wilt and die. Despite SRU doing her best she absorbed the life essence of the flowers around her and made him faint. When SRU awoke, she had turned herself into a black flower in an attempt to feel their life.
Round 3
Merachne (won, entry) vs Outtake (lost, entry). Match page: C2 R3 - Merachne vs Outtake
In Merachne’s canon reality, Outtake asked to die. Merachne rejected it, as it would accomplish Outtake’s dream but wouldn’t grant him the victory he wanted. They then stared at each other for apparently a millennium, with most spectators dying in the wait. Tired of that, Gamemaster ordered them to fight, so Merachne killed Outtake with one touch. In Outtake’s reality, Merachne gave him a gun to kill himself but he accidentally shot Merachne. Merachne tried to stab him and behead him but Outtake kept coming back. In the end Merachne lunged at him but crashed against a wall and out of the arena, losing.
After Crab 2
After losing CRAB, Merachne was mercilessly torn apart and untangled by GM (Cat form), eventually being killed and turned into a yarn ball as a memento for GM.
With the death of Merachne and no one to take care of the seedling universe he came from, the stagnation of life energy tore the universe apart, needing no extra effort from GM. Merachne never closed in on his understanding of dreaming, of himself or his selfish nature. His torturous death brought him a fleeting glimpse of mortality that did not allow for the appreciation of life as a mortal would see it. Truly pathetic.
Balkari absorbed his remains to attain her most powerful form ever - but she could not control it and as such never used it.
Relationships
Life Within CRAB
Between rounds, Merachne spent time observing others and fulfilling the purpose he was created for, threading and watching the dreams of the other Crabs.
His avoidance of contact and distant behavior kept the Crabs from ever warming up to him, not many aside from his team members spoke with him. His curiosity only fulfilled by his generally selfish behavior prevented him from considering the others aside from their dreams and their mortality.
He spent a lot of time stalking and sulking around.
Other
The Touch
The Touch is how Merachne can directly induce dreams and modify the soul essence of living beings. By getting close enough to corona of a being’s soul, he can attract the energy and spin a direct line without actually interacting with the being’s soul and killing it in the process. The Touch is incredibly precise and to the outside observer it seems like Merachne made contact with the one subject to it.
Soul Death
Merachne is the physical embodiment of the unlimited life energy put out by the universe, he acts as a battery, connected directly to everything everywhere. Thus for a being’s soul to make direct contact with Merachne results in the sharing of the infinite creative energy to take residence in their soul. The resulting overflow causes the soul to tear itself apart as it expands infinitely to fit the universe and literally attempts to do everything at once.
