With me, death offers no reprieve from justice.

Celia is a participant of Crab 3, joining the Stuffed Crust Crusaders. From the year 199X, she is a former police detective that now pursues literal ghosts who have taken up an unlife of crime. In her world, ancient magic bolsters modern technology, and she relies heavily on such devices to fight crime. Celia’s father disappeared under suspicious circumstances when she was 11. After a particularly brutal few years of youthful rebellion and lashing out, she followed in her father’s footsteps and became a detective with the local police in order to find out what happened to him. The Gamemaster abducted Celia when she attempted to stop his midnight snack run.

Appearance

Personality

Celia is an introspective character, often having large portions of dialogue delivered in the form of thoughts emphasized with alliteration and rhetoric. On the outside, Celia is slightly abrasive and speaks casually, but is generally nicer after the ice is broken. She sometimes makes quips or observations at the expense of others. She almost never thinks about the outcome of her next actions, a reckless behavior of the nihilism she developed from being exposed to the “world beyond death” too much.

Powers and Abilities

Celia has no innate special powers or abilities. The winged, heart-shaped pin on her hat allows her to nearly instantaneously transport her body to the Ethereal Plane with only a touch. This process is shown as a blue flame enveloping her, where she then becomes a ghostly silhouette as she moves about. While there, Celia becomes intangible to anyone and anything not in the Ethereal Plane with her. Touching the pin again returns her from the Ethereal Plane. Anyone in contact with her when she touches the pin travels with Celia across the veil.

Celia possesses a small caliber handgun that has been magically augmented by her world’s fusion of magic and technology. When loaded with appropriate ammunition, the gun discharges a powerful electric current. She also carries silver bullets to help defend her against more aggressive spirits and supernatural beings.

Background

History

Recruitment

Celia walked in the Bucket and thought about her world, where magic and technology were integrated, as well as her previous job as an officer and her current work as a ghost cop alongside her brother. She mentioned how she believed the wizard was just insane until he transported her to the tournament and she realized some people could use magic innately. Decided to attain victory even against such powerful foes, Celia recognized she was in comparison to many Crabs unremarkable and that she would have to make herself remarkable. She visited then Kevin in the hospital and, noting all Crabs would eventually know her, she suffocated him with a pillow.

Round 1

Celia Pinewood (won, entry) vs Jupiter Jovian (lost, entry) in Uncover/Hide The Truth. Match page: C3 R1 - Celia vs Jupiter

In Centuria, Celia was assigned to the Empire, and Jupiter to the Horde.

Jupiter did not deliver. But in the opposing reality, Celia explored an evil wizard’s tower in search of an ambiguous answer, though she found only a bingo card. While she was searching, the tower came under attack by Berlo, who promptly threw himself out a window and died. The situation left Celia with more questions than answers.

In Celia’s canon reality, Celia was sent to a remote ruin by the Emperor to destroy a magical painting using Alchemist’s Fire. The Emperor instructed her to not look at the painting under any circumstance. When Celia arrived at the ruin, Jupiter stalked her silently and undetected. Celia found the painting, and was overcome by her curiosity, glancing into it. The painting twisted magically and revealed a dark secret of how the emperor betrayed one of his generals, launching the Empire and the Horde into a war. Jupiter oversaw this secret as it was revealed, and attempted to take the painting from Celia by force. In the struggle, Celia broke her lantern over Jupiter’s head, and used a bottle of Alchemist’s Fire to detonate the spilled oil. Celia used the pin on her hat to safely observe the ensuing explosion, and Jupiter was sent flying across the sky, landing on a distant mountaintop. The painting was destroyed and Jupiter fucking died.

Round 2

Mister Overkill (lost, entry) vs Celia Pinewood (won, entry) in Yakuza. Match page: C3 R2 - Mr Overkill vs Celia

In Japan, both Overkill and Celia drank the Kemono Potion, turning into a crocodile and a bunny kemono respectively.

In Overkill’s reality, Overkill along with Sae and Magai were negotiating with a worn down Yakuza family, offering them to restore them to their former glory and to kill Celia if they helped the Ultraviolent/Freak alliance to capture the Gamemaster in his little girl form. A few days later, they organized a parade in honor of the Gamemaster to draw him in, a suggestion from Magai who Overkill pointed out had a doctorate in psychology. The Gamemaster indeed appeared, but mocked them calling them the bottom of the Bucket. Sae then used her esper powers to surround the Gamemaster in a forcefield - noticing this, Celia shot to stop her, but Overkill interceded blocking the bullet with his new crocodile tail. He tried to convince Celia to join the rebellion, but she refused - seeing no other option, he transformed into his overcroc form, which made the detective break down in laughter. Angry, Overcroc bit down Celia and gave a death roll to kill her. Gamemaster then began pushing against the barrier, saying they would all go to Nuremberg, and Sae asked Magai to help her close it - surrounding it, Magai became the Acrosome Blockade, cutting off the Gamemaster from her own power and locking her completely. Sae then used her esper powers to create an infinite recursive prison and kept the Gamemaster there. Being done then, the yakuza leader asked Overkill how would this help his family, to which Overkill just ate his head. Later then, he reported to Florida Man the prison should hold for a few weeks, with the corrupted Freaker saying it would be enough to complete his metamorphosis.

In Celia’s canon reality, the croc was in the river waiting to set up an ambush and annoyed at Celia (who waited in a car nearby) pestering him on the radio in fears he would go rogue and kill someone again as he had done. Celia marveled at the existence of bluetooth and told Overkill to just keep it easy and steal the weapons the Yakuza had stolen from Senjata, and she would take care of the rest. He complained she was doing nothing, but complied, and when the Yakuza came to the near bridge to exchange a suitcase he jumped and snatched it, escaping underwater and emerging through a manhole towards Celia’s car, who threw a brick at the accelerator to escape. Overkill complained about her method but Celia seemed unfazed. With the car being unstable and gaining more and more speed, Overkill asked the bunny if she even knew how to stop and she said they would use a truck ramp to slow down or that he could get down and push the brick. Panicked and angry, the croc took a gun and fired randomly at the car calling her a psycho. The car lost control, going for the ramp, and Overkill tried to use the brakes but found his gun had destroyed them. Hitting a barrier, they were left at the edge of a cliff, with the car slowly tilting over. Celia tried to wake up the knocked out Overkill, but ultimately the van fell and exploded, with her phasing into the other world to save herself and Overkill, who woke up to hear her explanation. Celia warned him of the effects of crossing to the other world and how she used inner monologuing to deal with it, and he joked he was developing psychosis. In the end, Celia offered him to continue fighting the Yakuza in Shibuya, as she had used her powers to interrogate a dead snitch and knew they would have a strong presence there.

Round 3

Z (lost, entry) vs Celia Pinewood (won, entry). Match page: C3 R3 - Z vs Celia

In Z’s reality, Celia asked Z if they had a deal, but Z said it wasn’t the case. Celia asked Z if they were mad about her beating Overkill, but Z replied they did not mind and, being in a good mood, offered Celia to walk out of the arena. Happily revealing to be the one responsible of disbanding the Freakers and thanking Celia for her help in doing so, Z summoned the Centuria archers to shoot a volley of arrows at Celia, who warped into her ghost form to phase through it and responded by firing lightning bolts at her opponent. However, Z easily absorbed the electricity and fired it back at a far greater power. As they reminisced about the contracts made with Ocapon, Boxing Wizard, Wanzu and Tredecima to create shadow copies, Z approached Celia who had once again phased into her ethereal form, and managed to see her wearing Ocapon’s glasses. Attentive to the fact Z had dodged the first shot of her electric gun, Celia attempted to catch Z off guard with another shot, which Z saw through - yet in the end, this was a distraction from the detective in order to pull her rival onto the ethereal plane as well. Being cut off from the other shadows, Z hesitated but ultimately decided to not summon Tredecima’s, while Celia offered to talk. Both observed the beauty of the other side, and Celia asked Z what their wish was. Confessing it was to always restore whatever was destroyed at the end of the tournaments, Z remembered the words of Dylan, Kome and Lenard when hearing it, and Lenard noticing Z’s mercy towards opponents. In the end, both agreed to end it in a fist fight - and Z emerged victorious.

In Celia’s canon reality, Celia and Z walked to the arena, with the first asking the latter if they would offer her a deal as per usual. Z denied that, given how much was at stake for the battle. Bantering with each other, with Z noting they would not hesitate to kill if needed and Celia responding her gun was faster than Z’s shadows, Berbie made the fight begin. Z summoned the Centuria army and shot arrows at Celia, who phased out of them in her ghost form. Shooting through the dust an electric discharge, Celia hit Z on the amulet, which absorbed the power just like Z planned. Z used the energy to shoot a chain of lightnings, which Celia narrowly dodged. Celia switched to silver bullets, while Z realized it would be difficult to hurt Celia in her spiritual form, and summoned the shadows of all of H.A.U.N.T., LOVE, Oji-san and Overkill for assistance, telling those who could hurt souls to remain. They all vanished except a confused LOVE (whom Z kicked out) and Cyrus, whom Z sicced at Celia’s ghost form. Materializing a rock from the ethereal plane, Celia crushed Cyrus, then she pulled a GIWTWM Videl-Gohan wrestling move on the hooded enemy and began pummeling them on the ground. Responding by electrifying Celia, Z pushed her off but could not retrieve the hat, and Celia warped again into her ghost form. Finding themselves at an impasse again, Z offered Celia a deal: an even fight with no shadows, no lightning, no gun, and remaining on the same plane. Celia agreed, but on the handshake pulled Z into the ethereal plane alongside her. Showing Z the beauty of the other plane, Celia went for a surprise uppercut, demonstrating the other world’s low gravity and sending Z flying. After this however, Z quickly adapted and began laying a beatdown on Celia. Completely beat-up, Celia let herself be punched a final time and deactivated the ethereal plane, causing both herself and Z to plummet under the normal gravity once again - with Z hitting out of bounds. Although at first seemingly dead, Celia ultimately proved to be alive, if badly hurt, and won the round.

Admiral Pizza (lost, entry) vs Luigi and Stuffed Crust Crusaders (won, entry). Match page: C3 R3 - Admiral Pizza vs Luigi and Stuffed Crust Crusaders

In the Admiral’s reality, the Admiral faced the team in a Pizza eating contest out of anger of being left out from the Pizza team - both Luigi and the Admiral had participated in the American wars and considered each other enemies. The Crusaders began falling one after the other - Davok threw himself off the Bucket over believing himself a monster after eating too much pizza, Harry due to being caught cheating using a raccoon to eat the pizza for him, Morgan due to the pizza oil deactivating her nanomachines which she was also using to cheat, Celia not being able to handle so much sausage, and Vera dying in the timeskip with a robot skeleton she had left to eat for her running out of batteries. The Admiral messed with Luigi by eating pizza two-handed or cooling wine with ice, offending his Italian sensibilities. In the end, aeons passed as Luigi and the Admiral ate all the pizza in the world -there was no more food-, Soren became a survivor in a post apocalyptic world and went through seven timeskips, and ultimately realizing their war had ruined the world, both pizza men decided to make peace and forgive each other for their participation in the Civil War. As an angered Berbie demanded to see blood, Centurion then killed him with a punch, while Luigi and the Admiral shook hands and decided to just play videogames next.

In Luigi’s canon reality, the Bucket had been filled with sand and Luigi activated the headquarters battlemode, launching two tanks with his team to hunt down the Admiral who went at them on his own (he represented the American pizza flag while they were the Soviet pizzacutter flag). The Crusaders spent a night camping preparing for battle, Harry looking at his furry girlfriend, Morgan at her fangirl, Davok drinking gasoline and Celia running out of booze. Later Berbie waited, and noticed the fight had begun, the tanks shooting at the Admiral who dodged the bullets. Morgan put her nanites on the next shot, and when the Admiral dodged it they grabbed him. Using his arm power then, Harry summoned not a sword but a giant pizza cutter against the Admiral, who punched it back at the man destroying the tank where Harry and Vera were in. Vera and Celia then began to shoot at him, with no effect - the distraction allowed Morgan to run and punch him in the stomach, launching him towards Davok who uppercut him and used his power to send him flying at max speed towards another pizza cutter summoned by Harry - with this combination, the Admiral was finally defeated and gave up, and the team saluted their leader Luigi. Meanwhile, a dejected Berbie gave a sigh as he was expecting for them to arrive to a regular pizza making competition.

After Crab 3

After Brat Pack’s victory, Celia was offered the chance to become an Enforcer under the Bratheon. It is unclear at this time whether or not she accepted this offer, so it is assumed she returned to her world. In Kome’s epilogue, Celia is seen drinking with Davok over a pizza.
